Marcus started his formal dance training at the age of 17 at LASALLE-SIA College of the Arts and concurrently a one year intensive scholarship under Lionel Araya. With the Dance programme at LASALLE-SIA, he danced in all the graduation shows including Invisible Threads, Emotions in Motion, Entrelacs and Swan Song.

He has had the opportunity to perform the works of international artists Rachel Berman (Paul Taylor Dance Company, USA), Darryl Thomas (Pilobolus Dance Company, USA), John Mead (Repertory Dance Theatre, USA), Caren Carino (Ririe-Woodbury Dance Company, USA) and Veshnu, a 1998 Singapore Young Artist Award recipient. He was also selected to perform in TARI 2002 in Malaysia and was a guest dancer in The Classic Song (2005) produced by dance alumni Dan Kwoh and Xu Jie at Jubilee Hall, Singapore. For his graduation project Marcus produced, choreographed and danced in Double Bill-Time and You.

Since graduating in 2004 with a Diploma in Dance he has been active teaching a variety of dance workshops for Club Med Bintan, Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School, YMCA, amongst others.  Marcus is a founding member of LADC.
